Ashraf is the director of Jordan branch and head of structural department of Top Notch Engineering Consultancies. He has more than 19 years of experience in structure design across the Middle East and internationally. He has experience handling a diverse range of projects and is competent to deal with all international and local codes. Ashraf excels at ensuring projects are delivered on time, through expert management of multiple disciplines ranging from architectural, ID, civil, structural and IT/security and electrical.
During nearly nineteen years of involvement in the Structural Engineering field, he had gained an extensive experience in structure design competence for mainly structural reinforcement concrete, post-tension and steel elements; deep experience in seismic design, shop drawings monitoring and reviewing, rehabilitation and strengthening works, in-depth knowledge of international structural codes (ACI318, UBC97, IBC, ASCE 7, SBC, Jordanian and BS codes). He obtained Unlimited buildings structural engineer license in UAE – Dubai Municipality (2013).
KEY PROJECTS
GASPROME HOSPITAL – Iraq - Badra
Badra located at Iraq & Iran borders, consist of three floors using flat slab and drop panel studied for temperature and special shear walls as lateral resistance system, it is modeled by ETABS software using dynamic analysis and IBC2009 code for seismic study (drift, torsional irregularities, dynamic scaling, required expansion joint width and P-delta check)raft foundation on piles were used for foundation system, it is modeled by SAFE software taken into consideration compression, tension and lateral capacity of piles.
Le Gray Hotel – Jordan – Amman
Analysis and design concrete tower consist of seven basements and 23 floors, it is modeled by ETABS software using dynamic analysis, design columns, shear walls, double volume basement walls, raft foundation and study the stability of building (drift, torsional irregularities, dynamic scaling, required expansion joint width and P-delta check).
National Crisis Management Center – Tajikistan – Dushanbe
consist of one basement and three typical floor, flat slab and drop panel system were used, it is modeled by ETABS software using dynamic analysis for special shear wall system design considering zone 3 with importance factor 1.5.
AL AIN SOUQ – UEA – Al-Ain
Visual inspection, reviewing results of test pits, concrete cores, scanning, reviewing Conservative Management Plan (CMP) report (fully study for site and buildings) and strengthening design works for six existing steel building and one concrete building, different steel systems used in the Souq, portal steel frame, steel trusses and cold formed Z shape (purlins) supported on concrete frame, vaulted slab and arch beams system used for the concrete building.
SHEIKH KHALIFA HOSPITAL – UAE – Al-Fujairah
Reviewing all hospital parts consist of ground and nine floors, it is modeled by ETABS software using dynamic analysis and IBC2009 code for seismic study (drift, torsional irregularities, dynamic scaling, required expansion joint width and P-delta check). Flat slab with drop panels system were adopted for span (9.0-10.0 m) , shear walls with its spandrel system were used for lateral loads , treble volume columns and inclined columns were used at main entrance. Single and combined pile caps and raft foundation on piles were used for foundation system, it is modeled by SAFE software taken into consideration compression, tension and lateral capacity of piles. Getting approval from Al-Fujairah municipality.
Judicial Project – KSA – Main Building
It consists of 5 stories, flat slab system supported on inclined columns and walls edges
